In their Instagram post, the aquarium says they want the shark to have its name so that this superstar shark can swim home with a new name! We wrote a complaint to the New Jersey attorney general and hope that the Adventure Aquarium will change its “whatever we feel like charging” policy. You have three names to choose from: Finny, Ben, or Jawn. Nowhere was the exact admission price *prominently* displayed: not on the website, not at the box office. If the aquarium is sold out for the day, that should also be displayed on the website. It is dishonest and misleading to make the actual cost of entry difficult to see. When I finally reached a call center, we were offered 2 free passes that we turned down and no apologies, no refund. We asked to speak to a supervisor and was told one would call us soon. We called the aquarium and we’re told that the cost of admission changed depending on the day, and that the admission fee for that day happened to be $42.99 per senior. We did look at the receipt once we got home and were shocked: we were charged $85.28! This was for 2 seniors. We left after an hour, having seen all the exhibits. The aquarium was ok with some interesting cases like the upside down jelly fish, but many cases were murky, making it difficult to see the fish inside. We hurried inside without looking at the receipt (not that it would have made a difference since tickets are not refundable.) Since I was not able to buy tickets online (it turns out the aquarium was sold out!) my husband bought tickets at the kiosk and did not notice any pricing. I saw $24.99 - $42.99 for seniors which was confusing, but I assumed the range was for add-ons, which we weren’t interested in. We did not see any prices displayed at the ticket window, so I went to the website to see if I could buy tickets to save time. My husband and I were on our way from Philadelphia back to NY when we decided to visit the Adventure Aquarium. This was not the expected party experience at all.Įven worse, the staff never acknowledged our experience feedback. No preword about the bluetooth music options.limited/outdated photos of the party space presented. I didn't know that any of us could have upgraded the ticket to a membership while we were there either! In fact the attendants kept reminding us how many minutes we had left so we could start to leave. Our guest had to wait to come back because of this, but our party was not extended to compensate even though I asked. We were not taken back until after the party started. We were told we could have access to the space at least 15 minutes before the party to bring our cupcakes and miscellaneous party decor. The pizzas were hard and dry with barely any cheese or sauce. There was no table decor as we were told there would be. We had plain blue dollar store plates, tablecloths and cups with brown fast food restaurant type napkins. We did not receive anything shark themed though that was the selected theme. For the price of the space, the coordinators should be more available and constructive in promoting the features to close the group sale being mindful that not every potential customer has been in the space before. The phone is rarely answered, all the features of the party and space are not explained well. The process to get information and book the party in the Skyline Room was frustrating.
